Badan Kajian Pertanahan

Badan Kajian Pertanahan (BKP, “Agency for the Study of Land Affairs”), is an artistic research lab based in Jatiwangi, Indonesia, that adopts speculative practice/forms to address both the cultural landscape of the region as well as local issues concerning land. For the past three years, BKP have been adopting the following method: to imagine we have authority. Following this, BKP intentionally mimicked the authority institution Badan Pertanahan Nasional ("National Land Affair Agency") as part of their work in Kampung Wates, a village on the outskirts of Jatiwangi.
