Komunitas Drone DIY
Komunitas Drone DIY (“DIY Drone Community”–”Drone It Yourself!”) is an organization founded in 2014 by Radjawali Irendra, a political ecologist and environmental activist focusing on illegal land grabbing and deforestation in Indonesia. Komunitas Drone DIY works with Indigenous communities to gather and analyze data using DIY drones and collaborates closely with WALHI (The Indonesian Forum for Environment) and AMAN (Indigenous Peoples Alliance of the Archipelago, Indonesia). Their self-constructed drones are used collectively by local and Indigenous communities as well as other NGOs across Indonesia and beyond. Komunitas Drone DIY does not only organise drone pilot training, but also contributes to policy discussions about safety, licensing, and metadata protocols.
