Lian Gogali

Lian Gogali (Poso, Indonesia) is the founder and chair of the Mosintuwu Institute, a grassroots community organization based in Poso District, Central Sulawesi. Since 2009, Lian has been actively organizing women in 80 villages through the Women's School, and children through the Sophia Library. She also set up “Village Reform Schools”, which serve as a learning space for villagers to develop solidarity with nature and prosperity with roots in the village’s natural resources. The schools encourage villages to design sustainable community development plans guided by concepts of mitigation, adaptation, and climate justice.
